The region is to speed up improvements in infrastructure for key projectsSheffield City Region (SCR) has unveiled a £28bn infrastructure plan designed to help create 70,000 jobs and 6,000 businesses.The ‘Integrated Infrastructure Plan’ (IIP) details how the SCR will speed up key projects across the region’s nine districts.Major projects identified as priorities include Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District, Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the surrounding area, maximising the benefits of HS2 to the region and the regeneration of town and city centres.The programme will be rolled out from January. More details will be announced at the MIPIM UK conference in London later this week.
