Tedworth House supports wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel, with a strong focus on mental rehabilitation. Through structured activities, routine and time outdoors, residents rebuild confidence and prepare for their next steps – whether returning to service or transitioning into civilian life.
Mears Group activity: We focused on practical improvements that would make a lasting difference. Garden areas were cleared and prepared for ongoing growing projects, rotted fencing was replaced to protect crops, and a new pergola was installed to create a sheltered space for group activities and wellbeing sessions.
Impact: The transformed outdoor space is now safer, more functional and ready for regular use. It enhances rehabilitation by enabling residents to spend more time in nature, with secure gardens and a dedicated sheltered area for group sessions. Staff and residents are delighted, and the garden will continue to benefit the community for years to come.
“The garden fencing has been effective in preventing deer and rabbits from damaging the vegetables and flowers. Once the weather improves and the plants begin to bloom, PRD personnel will be able to fully enjoy the garden.” Tedworth House.
