4. Description: The Awarding Authority have been appointed to deliver contract HRS02, the Tunnel and Lineside Mechanical and Electrical services for HS2 ltd. A high-speed railway project that connects the specified location with plans to extend in the future.
Package 7 the Fire Detection scope for contract HRS02 consists of fire detection in the cross passages within the tunnel sections of the railway, the tunnels being circa 50 km in length across the route, inclusive of;

Costain require a supplier for supply and commission only of the fire detection package. Costain and HS2 are looking for innovative and smart solutions that provide benefits in the following key areas;
Health & Safety
Programme – Installation and commissioning efficiency
Cost
Quality and Assurance efficiency
Whole life cost
Carbon efficiency
The scope of the supply and commissioning will include the following;
Fire Detection and the associated equipment
Provision of samples and mock ups
Design and Commissioning support, as required
Full details of the scope and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of the HS2 project and are to assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works prior to completing the expression of interest.
