The Ministry of Defence is partnering with Hounslow Council and the Greater London Authority to deliver a major regeneration project on MOD land in Feltham, west London. The initiative forms the centrepiece of Hounslow Council’s ‘Future Feltham’ masterplan and aims to transform the town centre by creating new homes, jobs, and community facilities.

The MOD site will provide significant housing delivery for the borough, including genuinely affordable homes, while enabling continued investment in military infrastructure to support operational needs. Construction is expected to begin in 2028, following relocation of existing MOD operations. The development will incorporate commercial and creative spaces and improved public transport connections to integrate the site with the wider town.

Catherine Davies, Head of Estates at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, highlighted the opportunity for collaborative outcomes. “Three public authorities coming together with one vision offers a real opportunity for a creative outcome that will provide much needed housing and additional benefits for the local community. It will also enable re-investment elsewhere on the MOD estate to support operational needs.”

The project is expected to deliver 3,000 new homes, create 9,200 jobs across commercial, creative, and skills sectors, and include new community, leisure, and green spaces. For suppliers and contractors, the Feltham redevelopment offers opportunities in construction, infrastructure, and facilities development across housing, commercial, and public realm projects.

Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, said the project demonstrates how central, regional, and local government can work together to accelerate housing delivery while providing long-term economic and social benefits for London.

The partnership represents a strategic approach to maximising MOD land assets while supporting broader regeneration goals, highlighting the potential for collaboration with public sector partners and creating a significant pipeline of work for construction and development companies.
