4. Description: The Awarding Authority is looking to appoint a Principal Contractor to undertake the refurbishment of one (x 1) lift at the Specified Location.
The lift is a dedicated fire fighting lift. Along with the existing machinery above the lift, it is compliant with BS 5588-5.
The entire assembly needs to be modernised, refurbished, upgraded to ensure its compliance, as a fire fighting lift, with BS EN 81-72

One (x 1) lift to be refurbished / replaced
The existing lift is rated at 1000kg/13 persons with an 1100mm wide x 2100mm deep car. The existing entrance is 800mm wide x 2000mm high 2 panel center opening (2PCO).
The appointed contractor is required to provide the lift and all associated equipment within the lift well and machine space to deliver a complete and working installation in full compliance with all current British and European Standards, Codes of Practice, Regulations and Best Practice.
