Cestria Community Housing is working with developer Galliford Try Partnerships North to build 22 homes on a prominent site off Waldridge Road in Chester le Street.Architects Blake Hopkinson have drawn up the plans for the scheme which will provide 20 two-bedroom houses and two one-bedroom apartments, which will be let by Cestria at affordable rents.Preparation work has started on site with construction work expected to start in a matter of weeks.The £2.7 million development is being supported by the Homes & Communities Agency, with a grant of £697,000 secured by Galliford Try and the new homes are expected to be complete for summer 2017.
