Further details of a £29m apartment scheme to be built on Newcastle’s Quayside have been revealed along with new CGIs of the project. The 16-storey development is expected to create or support more than 400 jobs in the city.Property developer Adderstone Group is behind the development. The company revealed earlier this month that it was due to work on three separate Newcastle schemes totalling an investment of £100m.One of these was a residential project comprising 122 apartments spread across five towers, varying between ten and 16 floors. Now, official planning documents submitted to Newcastle City Council have revealed details of the development. The five towers would comprise 40 one-bedroom apartments, 75 two-bedroom apartments and seven three-bedroom apartments.A cinema and gym would also be built, while the new CGIs show that each tower would have a roof garden. The development would represent an investment of £29m in the area and would be expected to create 160 direct jobs and 245 indirect supply chain roles during the two-year construction period.A resident expenditure of £1.4m a year would also be anticipated, supporting the creation of a further 20 jobs in local shops and services.A planning statement drawn up by Ryder Architecture noted that it is intended for the apartments to be rented.
