4. Description: The Awarding Authority ICT Team are replacing the existing core layer 2 switches at the Service Headquarters and Data Centres sites with new hardware. Current port requirements will be considered, as well as potential future requirements of the Infrastructure Team to use 25Gb interfaces for servers. The current resilient network design will be maintained.
With the changes in requirement for increased port speeds and the existing hardware coming to the end of support with the vendor means that new hardware is required for continuous improvement of the SWFRS network.
