VII.2) Information about modifications

VII.2.1) Description of the modifications:
Contract has been extended to allow for full services to be delivered to convert PAC24 to Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) and to carry out the required trials. Contract value has increased to allow for a 12 month support package to be added and to facilitate Unmanned Marine Systems Certification from Lloyds Register.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
BAE are the PAC24 Design Authority and consequently the only organisation able to assure fundamental changes to the platform in terms of structure and stability, naval architecture and overall platform safety and integrity.
