A landmark Leeds office building which last served as the long-term home of a Big Four professional services firm could be redeveloped as a secondary school if newly submitted plans secure backing. No 1 The Embankment is situated at the junction of Neville Street and Sovereign Street and was last in use as offices for KPMG before the firm relocated to its new purpose-built One Sovereign Square home at the end of last year. Now, Cushman & Wakefield has submitted an application on behalf of the Education Funding Agency (EFA) seeking permission to use the building as a school. The secondary school proposed would have approximately 600 students at full capacity and cater for students aged between 11-18.With demand for secondary schools in Leeds city centre high, the EFA is confident that a school trust would be confirmed for the building shortly after the determination of the application.
