Plans to build more than homes in the Fruit Market area of Hull have been approved. The £17m investment will also include the reinstatement of two historic squares.Wykeland Group and residential developer Beal Homes are driving the wider £80m regeneration of the Fruit Market.As part of this project, the Wykeland Beal joint venture submitted plans for 109 homes earlier this year, made up mostly of two and three story townhouses. The properties will be arranged in mews style around private courtyards in four blocks.Scott’s Square and Horner’s Square, which were lost to demolition in the area, are also set to be reinstated creating pedestrian links between the new homes and the heart of the Fruit Market in Humber Street.As well as the residential development, the application includes four commercial units fronting Humber Street, which will be perfect for small retail units, restaurants or cafes.Hull City Council’s planning committee voted unanimously to grant consent
