Springfield Properties is set to significantly contribute to the Scottish housing market after receiving approval for over 1,700 new homes at 13 sites so far in 2016.Located from Motherwell to Forres and Dornoch to Edinburgh, the new homes will cover an area of more than 350 hectares which is the equivalent of 175 football pitches.Springfield said the properties will range from one to five bedrooms, creating new, high quality housing appealing to a wide audience of varying budgets. Of the new homes the firm has received approval for, over 25 per cent will be affordable housing.Springfield Partnerships managing director, Tom Leggeat, oversees the affordable aspect of the company.Due to the buoyant Scottish housing market, and the firm’s appetite for growth, Springfield is also in the process of gaining planning consent for a further 2,000 homes. These plots range from a 17 home development to the 870 house development to the South of Elgin.
