This contract will include development, manufacture and installation of a Technology Refresh solution for the PDM2 system currently fitted to Type 23 Frigates.
The planned term of the contract is anticipated to be three years. The total value of the contract is estimated to be c.7 500 000 GBP over the duration of the contract.
It is considered that this contract can be placed using the Negotiated Procedure Without Prior Publication pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC and Section 16(1)(a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 (SI 1848), on the basis that the contract may be awarded only to the Company for technical reasons.
This is because:
The Company alone has at its disposal the specialist knowledge and equipment and meet the Authority’s technical requirements under the contract.
