Plans have been submitted for a 25-storey development in Cardiff which could provide accommodation for almost 700 students.Architecture practice Corstorphine + Wright, on behalf of Fusion Students, has submitted designs for a new building on a vacant site adjacent to Herbert Street and the Dock Feeder canal in the city’s Capital Quarter.A 25-storey, 674-bed student accommodation development is proposed alongside laundry, study rooms and offices for support staff as well as 8,900 sq ft of high-end amenities including a student gym, dinner party rooms and a cinema.Ground floor commercial space suitable for restaurant or café use will also be provided.A previous planning application for 180 residential units was previously been granted planning permission. However, Fusion Students, which acquired the site in May 2016, has now lodged an updated scheme.
