Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky Aircraft subsidiary has received a $55m contract modification from the US Navy to obtain long-lead items needed to build four CH-53K helicopters. The Navy will use the service branch’s fiscal 2017 aircraft procurement funds to cover the full obligated amount for lot 2 CH-53K low-rate initial production materials. Sikorsky will perform work under the modification in Stratford, Connecticut through to March 2022.
