3. Contract type: Service contract
4. Description: The Awarding Authority works in partnership with exciting organisations to bring makers out of the studio and into novel spaces. Together, we deliver projects and events all across Specified Location, and we’re looking for this year’s partners.
Meet Your Maker events might take the form of demonstrations, showcases or workshops. Participants can learn more about a maker?s design process; see the skill, commitment and creativity involved in creating a piece of work.
Meet Your Maker has grown from an original Awarding Authority project which brought the skills of quality craft makers into the public eye. Since its inception, together with our partners, we have presented 80 events to total audiences of over 13,000, working with nearly 200 makers. We have run projects at Her Majesty?s Prison (HMP) and Young Offenders Institution (YOI) Cornton Vale in Stirling, events with the Living Memory Association in Edinburgh, Dumfries & Galloway College and during the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
Our Meet Your Maker programme will run again in 2017/18, but we will be adapting the project. It is our plan to partner with select organisations to create a more extensive, in-depth series of events. We are interested in partnering with organisations that want to build craft and/or makers into their annual programme of activity; by running a series of activities throughout the year at more targeted audiences with our support.
The Awarding Authority are now accepting proposals for Meet Your Maker projects which will take place before March 2018.
