Background
EURYDICE – the information network on education in Europe ? supports and facilitates European co-operation in the field of lifelong learning by providing information and analyses of European education systems and policies and by producing studies on issues common to European education systems. It currently consists of 41 national units based in 37 countries1 co-ordinated and managed by the EU Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) in Brussels, which drafts
its studies and provides a range of online resources. (Summary at

This Department for Eduction (DfE) invitation to tender proposal relates to provision of the Eurydice National Unit (NU) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (EWNI) only. Education Scotland, the Scottish Government’s national improvement agency for education, is responsible for Eurydice in Scotland. The National Unit proactively co-ordinates its activities with the Scottish National Unit. This tender is for the period 1 June 2017 ? 31 December 2017. The supplier will
contract with the Department for Education (?the Department?).
The supplier will co-ordinate the delivery of the Eurydice service in EWNI and be the single EWNI contact with the European Commission (EC). It should bid to supply the existing Eurydice service,
i.e. relating to England, Wales and Northern Ireland. However bidders should also indicate what reduction to its bid would result if the scope were not to include
i) Northern Ireland
ii) Wales
iii) Northern Ireland and Wales.
