The Awarding Authority have been appointed to deliver contract HRS02, the Tunnel and Lineside Mechanical and Electrical services for HS2 ltd. A high-speed railway project that connects to the specified location with plans to extend in the future.
Package 13 Fire main scope for contract HRS02 consists of the Fire main system for the tunnel sections of the railway, the tunnel sections being circa 50km and the overall route being circa 180 km in length, inclusive of;

Valves and Hydrants
Fixed Anchors and Supports
Pressure Reducing Valves
Associated Equipment
Emergency Escape and Equipment Signage
Costain require a supplier for supply only of the Firemain system. Costain and HS2 are looking for innovative and smart solutions that provide benefits in the following key areas;
Health & Safety
Programme – Installation and commissioning efficiency
Cost
Quality and Assurance efficiency
Whole life cost
Carbon efficiency
The scope of the supply will include the following;
Supply of Firemain pipework
Supply of Couplings
Supply of Valves and Hydrants
Supply of associated equipment
Provision of samples and mock ups
Full details of the scope and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of the HS2 project and are to assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works prior to completing the expression of interest.
