The Marine Living Resources in the Isle of Man territorial sea are a public asset of the Island.
The Department is ultimately responsible for the stewardship of these resources for the benefit of the Manx public. In order to effectively protect, conserve, and maximise the economic, environmental and social benefits that are provided by these resources, the Department relies upon good quality evidence, information and advice in order to develop policy and deliver proactive management. The Department therefore seeks to procure the services of an independent Fisheries and Marine Ecosystem Science & Research contractor to provide the data and advice necessary to support the Department’s functions in the territorial sea.
