About the buyer’s selection process:
Sizewell C Limited, hereinafter referred to as SZC, is proposing to construct a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station in Suffolk (Sizewell C) to provide reliable low-carbon electricity.
The purpose of the CompeteFor platform is to allow suppliers to express interest in upcoming packages at SZC and where required pass a mandatory minimum requirements questionnaire to ensure that we identify those who are deemed to be competent to provide the Works/Services to register their interests.
We want to understand the capability, resource and experience of organisations interested in joining the framework. We anticipate the framework being formed of both smaller specialist firms and larger multidisciplinary organisations. This variety of options is beneficial in establishing the flexibility required to deliver such a complex scope of works
Depending on the details/answers you will be providing, a long list will be created and if selected, you will be invited to take part in the Pre Qualification (PQQ) process. PQQ documentation will be made available for download by suppliers through the Group Procurement Portal (GPP).
The internet address for the GPP is :
SZC will be the Employer for the works/services detailed in this opportunity. The selection to participate in this opportunity, whether following a prior pre-qualification or not, does not alone signify approval of a Tenderer.
Note: The GPP will be the only channel available to Tenderers for communication during the tender process and shall be used to submit any questions, requests for clarifications, requests for further information, or other issues the Tenderer wishes to raise.
About the buyer:
SZC will be one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. It is important that we operate openly and transparently and demonstrate our commitment to delivering wider benefits across the UK, levelling up the regions, and operating ethically and sustainably throughout the project lifecycle. For that, we :
Are focused on supporting smaller, local businesses.
Are committed to promoting gender balance and have signed up to the Gender Target of 40% women in the nuclear industry by 2030, and 50% women apprenticeships by 2021
Are maximising the environmental benefits of SZC through low carbon construction methods.
Have already begun to benefit local communities and we have invested to support initiatives to reduce crime, tackle homelessness and provide training opportunities.
Will be proactive and encourage social mobility by ensuring that up to a third of the workforce on site will be recruited from the local area, using a Jobs Service to make accessing roles easier and break down barriers to work
Are committed to being a good steward of the local area and have held several consultations to understand key biodiversity issues in the area.
