4. Description: This Scope of Works is part of a suite of enabling works and environmental barriers that are required for the Enabling Works of the SZC Nuclear Power Station. The Enabling Works are physically bounded by the DCO “Red Line” boundary encompassing the development site.
A temporary sea defence wall barrier (TSD) is required to safeguard the construction activities within the MCA area from the effects of tidal actions. This temporary barrier will serve as a protective measure until a permanent sea defence solution is implemented.
Within the detailed design, steel sheet piles are detailed for the temporary sea defence (TSD) to protect SZB (where their sea defence requires removal to facilitate the construction works for SZC) and the SZC site itself during construction.
The TSD consists of aprox 785 linear m of sheet pile wall installed to heights (+7.5) & (+ .10m)OD forming the TSD.
Piles will be fee issued but all secondary support and steel capping / shear stud requirements implemented as part of the final detailing and detailed design shall be costed and provided by the Contractor.
Pile types include AZ-28-700(660m aprox) and CAZ-32-750 (120m aprox) of varying depths forming the sea defence. The contractor is to provide all plant , resource equipment and project management / technical detailed design resource to fulfil the contract for the successful and safe installation of the TSD.

About the buyer’s selection process:
Sizewell C Limited, hereinafter referred to as SZC, is proposing to construct a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station in Suffolk (Sizewell C) to provide reliable low-carbon electricity. The purpose of the CompeteFor platform is to invite potential tenders who are deemed to be competent to provide the Works/Services to register their interests. Depending on the details/answers you will be providing, a long list will be created and if selected, you will be invited to tender following the Invitation to Tender (ITT) process. Tender documentation will be made available for download by Tenderers through the GPP. The internet address for the GPP is :
SZC will be the Employer for the works/services detailed in this Invitation to Tender (ITT). The selection to participate in this ITT, whether following a prior pre-qualification or not, does not alone signify approval of a Tenderer.
Note: The GPP will be the only channel available to Tenderers for communication during the tender process and shall be used to submit any questions, requests for clarifications, requests for further information, or other issues the Tenderer wishes to raise.
