British Embassy Baghdad’s (BEB) assistance programme is seeking a suite of cyber security tools and software.
Description
The Operational Capabilities Team within the Security Operations Centre (SOC) at the Iraqi Ministry of Defence’s Cybersecurity Directorate (CSD) will be a critical element in monitoring and safeguarding the ministry’s vital systems and data. Its primary goal is to ensure the continuity of operations and verify the availability of cyber protection.
Fundamental to the operational capability is a suite of cyber security tools and software. Team members have limited experience in practical work of this nature so they will require training and support to familiarise themselves with the configuration, management and use of these tools.
The selection of specific products needs to be mindful of:
the longer term responsibilities of SOC
the MOD’s own restrictions and procurement processes
The programme is currently developing the fundamental knowledge and skills of the SOC team at CSD, and is ready to proceed to phase 1 imminently (at the earliest, November 2023). Assuming the selected products are virtual, deployment and training could start within 1-2 weeks of a selection being made.
Selecting a vendor by mid-December 2023 would ensure appropriate fit with the programme timeframes, with phase 1 scheduled to be complete by early January 2024 and phase 2 by February 2024.
Further information from the Department for Business and Trade team in Iraq is available on request.
