1. Summary of Requirements / Description of Work: Industrial or laboratory furnaces, incinerators and ovens. Waste incinerators. he incinerator facility at Dstl Porton Down operates a rotary kiln which is now approaching the end of its useful life and Dstl are seeking proposals to replace the kiln and its supporting structure with a like-for-like replacement.
The objectives of the project are:
• fabrication and installation of a turnkey like-for-like replacement of the existing rotary kiln and support structure;
• removal and disposal of the existing kiln, support structure and refractory lining;
to ensure that the replacement kiln is fully compatible with the kiln head and ancillary systems and services such as kiln loading system, fire door and ash removal system; and
• to ensure that the kiln is fully inter-operable with the existing Siemens PLC, SCADA
