The Defence equipment and support (DE&S) Maritime combat systems delivery team is considering negotiating and awarding contracts for the procurement and support of a range of diving and life support equipment for the military.
Diving equipment is currently supported through several contracts with various suppliers of diving equipment. DE&S intends to rationalise the supply chain by placing a reduced number of contracts with Prime contractors to drive and deliver improvements in efficiency and quality of support. DE&S is interested in procuring the best value for money COTS solutions, therefore suppliers may suggest alternative equipment to that currently provided to DE&S. As part of the tendering process suppliers will be required to demonstrate that their alternative equipment is ‘fit for purpose’ and at least of equivalent safety and capability standards to that currently provided to DE&S.
Contracts are scheduled to be awarded from November 2019.
This Prior Information Notice (PIN) has been issued to better understand the market, the Authority is inviting interested parties to provide details on their capabilities in this field.
