Short description of the contract or purchase(s):: Marine services. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) requires Marine Superintendency Services (MSS) in support of its ship chartering function. All work carried out under the contract must be performed to the requirements of, and to the satisfaction of, the Designated Officer (DO). The range of cargoes to be shipped include but are not limited to: general cargo and materials, frozen foods in refrigerated containers, ammunition, explosives, inert missiles, all types of military vehicles (including armoured and tracked), boats, aircraft and heavy plant. Cargoes are containerised where possible and Marine Superintendents are expected to be familiar with any specific national and international regulations governing the stuffing of containers.
