Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Musical instruments and parts. Musical instruments. Repair and maintenance services of musical instruments. Musical instruments and parts. Musical instruments. Repair and maintenance services of musical instruments. The Authority has a requirement for the supply and delivery of Musical Instruments, spares, consumables and associated products and the Repair of musical instruments. The requirement will service the various musical bands and schools within the UK Armed Forces based both in the UK and overseas. It is intended to award a maximum number of eighty Enabling Contracts with various suppliers for generic groups of musical instruments and repair services. These generic groups are likely to include but not be limited to sound engineering equipment and technical support(also repair); percussion (also repair); woodwind (also repair); brass (also repair); fretted and electrical (also repair); string (also repair); bagpipes (also repair); miscellaneous (also repair); electrical packages (also repair); pianos (also repair); lighting engineering equipment (also repair); musical instruments for military schools (also repair); and the repair of musical instruments. The Authority reserves the right however to amend the number of groups and the content of the groupings prior to the Invitations to Tender being issued. It is likely that the Invitation to Tender will not include a definitive specification, but will ask potential suppliers to provide maximum price lists of Catalogues currently provided to the general public by bidders, with percentage discount figures detailed, while detailing a maximum man hour rate for their repair charges. The Authority’s intention is that MOD customers will be able to approach all participating suppliers within the specific generic heading of the multi-participant framework agreement using mini-competitions. Orders will then be placed with the Contractor offering best value for money to the Authority, taking into account the award criteria detailed in our Invitation to Tender that will refer to this. Interested suppliers should express their interest only at this stage by forwarding their notification of interest to us with their full address, contact name, telephone number and email address. A Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) may be issued to interested parties though the Authority reserves the right to proceed to the Invitation to Tender stage without conducting a PQQ. All payments will only be made by the Government Procurement Card (GPC), therefore Tenderers must be VISA enabled by the contract commencement date if they are to receive a contract award. For repair requirements the supplier must be a member of the Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (NAMIR) Ltd or equivalent.
