There is a requirement for a skilled IT developer to complete the development of a web application for use within the awarding authority. The application has been partially developed and the need is to build upon this and see the project through to completion.

About the work
Early market engagement The application is half built. The last time we hired a contractor we went through the Crown Commercial Service Call-Off Contract and had input from 22 companies.
Who the specialist will work with You will be working with a team of four analyst/programmers, one of whom is the Team leader. Customers for the application are co-hosted.
What the specialist will work on The contractor will be required to work semi independently of Defence Statistics staff liaising closely with the customers to gather detailed requirements and subsequently design and build an application to suit the customers’ needs. Where possible the development should follow an Agile route utilizing the environment and facilities available within the Defence Statistics environment and MOD constraints. Defence Statistics develop web applications hosted on a Linux environment, server support is provided by a separate team. The design must be agreed with the existing team as they need to ensure that they have the correct skills to ensure continues support.
Working arrangements: Onsite most of the time, with possibly some home working at the discretion of the Team Leader.
Security clearance: Must be SC cleared.

Additional terms and conditions The contractor will need to arrange travel to site and accommodation out of the daily amount. If there is any travel offsite with the development team, this will be paid for.
