Short description of requirement: Specialised boats. This RFI is issued prior to the formal contract award procedure (i.e. prior to to either the Prior Information Notice or the Contract notice) and seeks to obtain information from the marked place which will inform the technical requirements and scope of the project.

The Commercially Supported Shipping (CSS) – boats team is in the Concept stage of the Landing Personnel Armoured (LCPA) project which is aimed at maximising commonality of equipment across a number of existing boat types. This project is looking at replacing the Royal Navy’s current fleet of Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel Mk 5 (LCPV) and Offshore Raising Craft (ORC). The current craft are approaching the Out of Service Dates (OSD) and no longer meets the user requirements. A new range of craft is required to enable the Users to effectively fulfil their range of operational tasks.

The CSS Boats team is seeking information to gauge a better understanding of the capability and capacity of current Military boat market; to confirm if our current plans are realistic; and to inform its decision making/planning processes. To do this the team has produced a Market Survey Questionnaire (MSQ) which we invite you to complete.
