VII.2) Information about modifications

VII.2.1) Description of the modifications:
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) Project Delivery Team requires additional services over a limited period of one year in order to maintain BBMF Aircraft Airworthiness and meet its Mandated Regulatory requirements as set out by the Military Aviation Authority.

The original contract is being modified via a12 month extension with an increase in financial sanction of £273,511.

VII.2.2) Reasons for modification:
Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire (Art. 43(1)(b) of Directive 2014/23/EU, Art. 72(1)(b) of Directive 2014/24/EU, Art. 89(1)(b) of Directive 2014/25/EU)

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
A change in contractor would require training with BBMF’s unique technology, safety management systems and platform integrity. Duplicating cost and time incurred on the original contract, and resulting in significant effort from MOD personnel who would otherwise be carrying out activities critical to platform safety and would render the first 6 months of a 12 month contract ineffective. The loss of knowledge and Suitably Qualified and Empowered Personnel would impact on aircraft airworthiness.
