Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Safety equipment. Background:
Royal Navy (RN) and Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) vessels are mandated in accordance with SOLAS and MCA directives to carry Man Overboard Recovery Systems (MORS). MORS are carried on both large and small vessels and there are two variants of the unit to meet different vessels requirements.
The 2 variants are:
– NSN O472 2090-99-974-9030 – Man Overboard Recovery Stretcher, part no. JCMOD110/2 and
– NSN O472 2090-99-709-0889 -Jason Cradle Fast Recovery Craft kit (with bag), part no. JCMOD0415/1.
Both variants are manufactured by Land and Marine Ltd but the servicing and repair of this equipment is carried out by approved service stations.
Requirement:
The Authority’s requirement is for a 4 year Enabling Contract to Service and Repair the following In-Service Man Overboard Recovery Systems to meet the MCA rules and regulations.
Note: It is an essential requirement of this contract that the successful bidder holds the OEM’s (Land and Marine Ltd) approved service station status for the duration of the contract.
The Authority is seeking expressions of interest from suppliers capable of satisfying this requirement.
The potential supplier shall demonstrate they hold current and recognised Quality Management System (QMS) certification, (ISO 9001:2008 or equivalent) which fully meets the scope of the requirement. Latest copies of their certificate shall be included with the expression of interest.
The potential supplier shall demonstrate they hold approved service station status for this equipment. Written evidence of this approval from the OEM (Land and Marine Ltd) shall be included with the expression of interest.
