The Contracting Authority seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide Generator Maintenance. This will comprise of maintenance and servicing of different types of Generator sets installed throughout the Awarding Authority.
The contract will be split into 2 lots, and suppliers will have the opportunity to bid for one or both lots.
The term of the contract will be 3 years with an option to extend, at the sole discretion of the Contracting Authority, for up to an additional in 2 years.

Suppliers are advised to allow adequate time for uploading documents and to dispatch the electronic response well in advance of the closing time to avoid any last minute problems.
Total quantity or scope of tender
Lot 1
The Contractor will be required to carry out planned maintenance and inspection of the generators as per the asset list provided in Appendix A.
The Contractor will be required to carry out planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule set out below in 2.4. The frequency of planned maintenance and inspection shall be every 4 months.
During this visit the Contractor shall carry out a mains failure test on all sites except where portable generators are installed at Cowbridge and Penarth.
The mains failure test at stations will be carried out after arrangements have been with the station commander or duty watch manager.
The mains failure test at the headquarters site in Llantrisant shall be carried out after suitable arrangements have been made with the Service Manager.
The Contractor shall also carry out an annual test of the engine oil. The engine oil analysis shall check for wear, contamination and chemistry, as listed in the sample oil testing below 2.3. Oil change and filter change frequencies shall be based on the Manufacturer’s recommendations.
The Contractor shall provide the Awarding Authority with a consignment note (Hazardous waste regulations 2005) for all waste removed from site.

The mains failure test at the headquarters site in Carmarthen shall be carried out after suitable arrangements have been made with the Service Manager.
The Contractor shall carry out an annual test of the engine oil. The engine oil analysis shall check for wear, contamination and chemistry, as listed in the sample oil testing below 2.3. Oil change and filter change frequencies shall be based on the manufactures recommendations.
