Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $243m contract to supply 72 Active Electronically Scanned Array radars, spares and support services to the US Air Force. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $30.7m at the time of award from the service branch’s fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds. Northrop offers a range of AESA radars for integration onto various platforms such as the F-35 and F-22 fighter jets and the B-1 bomber aircraft.
