Approximately 5.5Km of 33kV Cabling to connect new substation to Existing Harrow Road Primary Substation
UKPN will carry out all works in relation to modifying the existing substation and making the final connection.
Programme
The works are to be handed over to the Client in February 2020.
Atlas Road:
Scope
Design and Construction of 6.6kV Substation at Atlas Road
6.6kV Cabling to connect new substation to Existing Willesden Road Substation
SSE will carry out all works in relation to modifying the existing substation and making the final connection.
Programme
The works are to be handed over to the Client in November 2018.
Victoria Box and Old Oak Common Substation:
Please note this work scope has 2 design options which are been considered:
Option 1
Scope
Design and Construction of 33kV/11KV Substation at Atlas Road
Design and Construction of 11KV Substation at Old Oak Common
Design and Construction of 11KV Substation at Victoria Road
33kV Cabling to connect new substation to Existing Leicester Road Primary Substation. This will involve cabling through existing service tunnel. To enable access into the service tunnel a new access shaft will be required.
11kV Cabling to connect new 11kV Substations to 33kV New Atlas Road Substation.
UKPN will carry out all works in relation to modifying the existing substation and making the final connection.

The works are to be handed over to the Client in February 2020
Option 2
Scope
Design and Construction of 66kV/33kV/11KV Substation at Atlas Road
Design and Construction of 11KV Substation at Old Oak Common
Design and Construction of 11KV Substation at Victoria Road
66kV Cabling to connect new substation to Existing Willesdon Road Primary Substation.
33kV Cabling to connect new 11kV Substations to 33kV New Atlas Road Substation.
SSE will carry out all works in relation to modifying the existing substation and making the final connection.

The works are to be handed over to the Client in February 2020
The awarding authority will award packages of work for each works package. However, consideration will be made to award a full scope package if this offers significant commercial and operational benefits.

In review & selection of potential bidders to receive an Invitation to Tender for the works package, CSjv will base the decision on a range of factors – Previous relevant experience, Health & Safety, Quality, Environment, EDI, Ethical Sourcing, Company financial standing, Registration on Achilles Building Confidence.
If shortlisted, a further PQQ will be sent which contains project specific questions & evidence to be provided. This will assess capacity, capability, sustainability, equality, diversity & inclusion and environment and legacy requirements. Suppliers will also have to sign and return the Clients’ Non Disclosure Agreement as part of the PQQ process.
Following PQQ process selected suppliers will be invited to Tender. Please note that the assessment of tenders will be based on a balanced set of evaluation criteria. CSjv is not bound to accept the lowest price in selecting the successful tender for award.
About the buyer:
High Speed 2 is a planned high-speed railway in the United Kingdom linking London, Birmingham, the East Midlands, Leeds and Manchester. The project will link eight of our major cities and serve millions of people. Travelling for work or pleasure will become much easier ? crucially between the cities of the Midlands and the North.
The Enabling Works Contracts which have been awarded cover the whole of Phase One, from London to Birmingham.
For the Enabling Works phase, 3 joint ventures have been appointed of which the CS JV (Costain Group Plc, Skanska Construction UK Limited) has been awarded Area South, which covers the length of the planned route from London Euston out to the M25.
Under the contract CSjv will deliver a range of activities within this geographical area including utility diversions, ecology surveys, demolition, ground remediation, watercourse activities, highways realignments, monitoring and instrumentation, structural reinforcements archaeology, site clearance as well as establishing site compounds.
