4. Description: The awarding authority tender for a contract for Network wide CCTV/Help Points Infrastructure Upgrade.
The aim of this tender is to appoint a supplier to deliver an upgrade to all CCTV, Help Point, Public Address and associated devices to a digital format and replace the life expired existing analogue security infrastructure across all the WMCA managed sites across the West Midlands.
The main objectives are:
to reduce costs and risks associated with life expired analogue CCTV equipment by the implementation of a planned replacement of CCTV cameras, help points and Audio systems currently employed around the WMCA network;
to enhance CCTV information and analysis available to the Safer Travel and Police Teams;
to improve quality and quantity of information with car park counting;
to deliver ANPR monitoring technology to eliminate the need for manual car park counting, deliver further enhancements to Crime Prevention Intelligence and also deliver enhancements to support information provided by Our New Journey for the messaging of space availability through SMS, websites and Variable Messaging Boards or other marketing activities;
to provide the infrastructure and network capabilities to capture or provide future video analytics or revenue opportunities that may arise for the Safer Travel Command Centre (STCC).
