A €750,000 fund has been announced to improve rural towns and villages in Cavan-Monaghan.The money is being allocated under the Rural Town and Village Renewal Scheme.It is understood Monaghan town will receive €100,000 of the fund, while Cavan town, Cootehill and Virginia have secured €85,000 each.Fianna Fáil TD for Cavan-Monaghan, Niamh Smyth, called for the funding to be paid to local authorities “as soon as possible”.
