Plans to demolish a prominent building on a Newcastle business park and replace it with an eight-storey student accommodation scheme comprising 272 beds look set to be approved.Intersect Architects is behind the project, which is earmarked for the site of the existing Clough House.Located on Kings Manor Business Park, the property is three storeys and was built in the early 1990s.The company wants to demolish Clough House and build a student accommodation scheme comprising six-, seven- and eight-storey elements.The Z-shaped building would accommodate 272 bed spaces in a mix of cluster flats and bedsit studio units.Intersect’s new property would step from six storeys in the north east wing, to seven storeys in the central link arm and eight storeys towards the south.The development would also include a gym, laundry room and common room.
