Plans to build a major mixed-use development in Newcastle, comprising 550 homes, a primary school and retail space, have been approved. The £64m project is expected to create about 350 jobs.CEG Land Promotions is behind the project, which is earmarked for land to the south east of Ouseburn.As a result of the proposal being in outline form, few details have been revealed.However, CGIs uploaded by the applicant detail the proposed layout.A report to councillors at Newcastle City Council suggested that the project would cost about £64m.It will also result in 357 direct and indirect jobs – 142 construction and 215 in the supply chain – being created during the build period.
