Construction and infrastructure company Morgan Sindall has been appointed to carry out £2.8m of refurbishments and improvements to Leamington Fire Station, in the centre of Leamington Spa.The company was awarded the work by Warwickshire County Council, through the East Midlands Property Alliance framework.The existing building on Warwick Street, in the centre of Leamington Spa, has been open for more than 50 years and is one of three fire stations that protect the county, as well as functioning as the regional headquarters.The Morgan Sindall team will be constructing a new gym facility, carrying out improvements to the main reception area and expanding the existing kitchen to include a new dining area.Work is due to start in December and is expected to be completed by summer 2017.
