Hull-based glazing specialist EYG Commercial has secured a contract to work on Premier Inn’s new 620-bed hotel at Heathrow Airport.The company will manufacture acoustic windows for STC Group to mitigate the noise from aircraft and volume traffic at the adjacent Terminal 4.Bernard Hastie, business development manager at EYG, said the £1.2m deal is a “huge endorsement” of the company’s capabilities and growing reputation.Nick Ward, joint managing director of EYG, said designing, developing and manufacturing the windows had been challenging for the firm.However, he added that the company had ultimately provided a product “which can be used in many similar developments going forward”.EYG Commercial has enjoyed its most successful ever year in 2016, glazed a St Monica Trust care home in Bristol and provided products for four further Premier Inn developments in Cirencester, Chipping Norton, Sunderland and Weymouth.
