Mr Kenji Wakamiya, Japan’s State Minister of Defense, visited Royal Air Force Coningsby on Friday 9th September. During the visit Mr Wakamiya met RAF and civilian personnel.

The Minister toured the Typhoon Training Facility and visited 29 (Reserve) Squadron; receiving briefings on how the RAF and BAE Systems deliver the skills required to fly and operate the Typhoon.

The Minister also visited the Typhoon Maintenance Facility and received briefings on the role of RAF Coningsby and its personnel.

Royal Air Force personnel are planning for training exercises with Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) in the Autumn.
