4. Description: The Maritime Equipment Transformation (MET) team Now re-rolled as Marine Systems Support team as part of the Ships Operating Centre (Ships OC) previously advertised the requirement however due to organisational changes the Switchgear element was placed on hold. The Authority is now in a position to continue and in order to maintain a competitive field now offers for consideration the following updated detail.
Submarine switchgear covers, but is not limited to, low voltage AC and DC switchboards (including reversionary controls and protection modules), Load Centres/Distribution Panels and Switchgear fitted to RN Submarines. Legacy generally refers to Whipp & Bourne and Lawrence Scott product fitted to T & V Class Submarines. New to service covers A Class Switchboards (including Reversionary Controls and Protection modules), Switchgear, Distribution Panels and Load Centres. For Legacy equipment, OEM support is fragile or non-existent and therefore significant assistance will be required to continue with current configuration or provide a long term “retro-fit” option. The support contract will take the form of a Spares Inclusive Upkeep Support Model .

Spares Inclusive Upkeep contracts share some of the characteristics of a traditional Enabling Contract, they are an agreement between the Supplier and the Authority containing the terms and conditions subject to which the Authority may place orders for Articles or Services, or both.
Under SIU contracts, the Supplier provides : –
• New assets, within an agreed lead time, upon request/order from Customer.
• New Spares, within an agreed lead time, for Naval maintainer maintenance scope (e.g. on board ship) upon request/order from Customer.
• Spares inclusive maintenance, within an agreed turn around time (TRT), upon request/order from Customer.
And may be asked to provide, where necessary:
• Post design services (PDS) and defect investigation activity upon request/order from Customer.
