Products and Services

Failure AnalysisWe offer a fast, cost-effective, service for resolving failure issues associated with polymeric materials. Our extensively equipped analytical facility, paired with our wealth of experience, and comprehensive understanding of mechanisms of degradation, allows us to accurately and efficiently pinpoint the origin of the issue. Our highly experienced scientists are also able to suggest and develop robust solutions that give the improvements in product performance our customers require.

Compound Development – With history and experience in a wide range of non-metallic materials across industry sectors including oil & gas, defence, transport and recycling, our experts can provide new rubber formulations to meet a specification, produce small volumes of material or product, or even analyse a sample to see how it performs during production and service. We are then able to arrange and support scale-up to industrial production where required.

We also offer support to the polymer recycling industry in improving recycling processes, enhancing properties for a specific application and developing materials with high recyclate contents.

Material Testing – We offer a comprehensive testing service for elastomeric and polymeric materials from standard testing conducted to the relevant international standards to bespoke custom test development to meet your specific requirements. We aim to deliver comprehensive results, with appropriate technical interpretation, in a timely manner at a competitive rate.

Our high-capacity testing capability also enables us to test full-size products under both static and dynamic loads representative of in-service conditions and we have extensive experience of monitoring the condition of components throughout their service life.

Research and DevelopmentWith a wealth of experience in undertaking innovative research and development projects, ranging from small individual programs for customers to large-scale multi-partner government-funded projects, we have the skills and expertise to construct and deliver material and product R+D that gives our clients the answers they need. Our extensive knowledge and innovative research into rubber recycling has delivered ground breaking solutions that broaden the markets for recycled products, as well as increasing the yields, quality and value of recycling processes.

TrainingWe can provide bespoke training courses tailored to your specific requirements. We also offer our two-day introduction to rubber technology course, designed by industry experts and approved by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3). It includes both theory and practical hands-on experience to help you gain a greater understanding of rubber and in doing so, further your professional development.

ConsultancyWe are experienced in providing industries worldwide with expert advice across the spectrum of business needs. We have strong capabilities to support you in better understanding and interpreting UK, US and EU legislation requirements and are well equipped to assist you in responding to the requirements of REACH by providing development, testing and analysis facilities to assist in the replacement of prohibited ingredients. ARTIS can also provide expert witnesses in the event of product failure in all stages of a dispute, from mediation to acting as experts in court proceedings.
