Description
The dummy load 600 kva with accessories will be used to simulate an electrical load. It is a resistive-inductive dummy load bank that will test the output power and load capacity of generators and protective switchgears.
The dummy load should have the following specification:
The cabinet should:
be a single enclosure
be made of galvanised steel
have no painting
be trailer mounted
The cooling should have:
fan cooling
external power supply or from the generator
auxiliary power of 400 vac triphasic – 50 hertz (hz) – 5,5 kilowatts (kw)
an air flow of 33300 cubit metres (m3/4) per hour or more
a fan motor speed of 1500 milli newtons (mn) or more
Safety:
There should be over temperature and airflow detection safety measures.
The electrical characteristics should include:
a nominal power rating for unit under test of 500kw, 440 to 380 volts (v), 3 phase 50 to 60hz and 220v, single phase 50-60 hz
a load step resolution of 10 kw
stainless steel finned sheathed elements resistive alloy with low temperature drift ( more than 2%)
a fuse and protective breaker
a line current withstand capacity for 3 phase circuit of a minimum of 1580 amps
The connections should be:
on copper bus bars for main power
on terminal blocks for auxiliary power
a cable gland should be protected from water for cable entry
Local control measures should include:
an emergency stop push button
a power supply on indicator
manual operation through a touch screen controller of appropriate size
manual power operation with up and down from touch screen
phase sequence indication
