Isle of Anglesey
As part of the SEACAMS2 project, we are undertaking collaborative research with the marine renewable sector working in / or based in Wales. Our two main research platforms for subtidal sampling are the 35 m RV Prince Madog and the 7.9 m Macoma inshore survey vessel. We are seeking a new USBL underwater positioning system to allow real-time and record information on the depth and Lat / Long positions of gear and instruments deployed from these vessels. The main items we want to position and record the depth for are a towed pelagic trawl (up to 4 knots through the water), towed and drop down camera systems and a towed sidescan sonar. Both vessels have poles that can place a transceiver / hydrophone below the water line.
