1. Summary of Requirements / Description of Work: Construction work for school buildings. RAF Croughton is located near Brackley, Northamptonshire, 20 miles north of Oxford and 70 miles northwest of London. The main gate is approximately 2 miles from the A43 along the B4031.
The scope of this project is to provide:
● A new main school building
● An ancillary Energy Centre
● An external works scope including the provision of playing fields
The facilities are required to support the move of personnel from several sites onto RAF Croughton to support critical missions, and increase efficiency and cohesiveness in addition to the creation of learning environments that complies with United States Department of Defence Education Authority (DoDEA) 21st Century Specifications.

The concept layout has been developed with the End Users to give an indication of how it is anticipated their requirements shall be met. The development of this derived design has considered all functional requirements to provide a properly sized and practical configured facility.
Unite States Air Force Europe (USAFE) will relocate a significant number of service personnel currently based at RAF Molesworth and RAF Alconbury to RAF Croughton. The existing schools at RAF Alconbury will be relocated to RAF Croughton concurrent with the proposed mission transfer in 2020. United States Department of Defence Education Authority (DoDEA) has approved the construction of an elementary (ES), middle (MS) and high school (HS) at RAF Croughton with a total student capacity of 468 students.
The new schools will be split into an elementary school and a distinct and separate middle and high school. The new elementary school will be designed in compliance with an approved Programme for Design (PFD) student number of 227 students. The new middle/high school will be designed in compliance with an approved Programme for Design (PFD) student number of 241 students (MS 121, HS 120).
There is an existing elementary school established at RAF Croughton within Building 230; these students will transfer into the new elementary school and the existing number of students on roll is included within the PFD student number as referenced above.
The new schools will be designed to comply fully with United States Department of Defence Education Authority (DoDEA) 21st Century Education Specifications () and mandatory elements of US/UK codes on a most onerous basis.
